Cotton fabrics. Fusible web appliqué, photo image transfer, embroidery, pillowcase binding.

Technical challenges:  This project began as a Banksy-esque concept with the birds appliquéd over sealed windows added to a pre-printed brick wall fabric. Then it seemed as though some graffiti would be appropriate (thanks and credit to the unknown Berlin Wall artists whose work I photocopied from a book). Discovered some very expensive photo-transfer material called PhotoFabric, which was messy and labor-intensive to use but provided good results. Used embroidery scissors to cut the ivy out of another pre-printed fabric and attached with fusible web. Embroidered cracks on the wall.
