Cotton fabrics. Fusible web appliqué.

This hybrid of piecing and collage was even more fun than collage by itself. Except for the pieced block and the borders there was no sewing involved in the assembly and there is no quilting at all.

The 25-piece block was one of four I made several months ago. The original concept was a four-seasons quilt using only leaf patterns from stash fabrics. So I made the four leaf blocks and spent weeks trying to figure out how to put them together. Every possible solution was a quilt much larger than I wanted to make. Decided to make four smaller quilts instead, and that opened up a new direction for the collage. Someday maybe I will make the other three.
