I wanted to do the least mechanical, least digital project I could think of, so stash fabrics with mostly nonsensical handwriting printed on them became the starting point for this piece. Art books about illuminated manuscripts provided ideas for the decoration motifs, adapted and simplified for the available construction materials (and the time constraints of a maker who does not live in a monastery). Each page has a different combination of collage, embroidery, and pen drawing.
