Cotton velour fabric, burlap, Malabrigo hand-dyed wool and Silk & Ivory yarns.
Most of my work is precision-engineered so I wanted to try something more improvised. The burlap shed so many tiny fibers that I had to wear a mask while working with it, so I won't do that again soon, but the Malabrigo yarn was a dream to use. Trees are freeform continental stitch. Hand-sewed the embroidered burlap to the background with quilting thread.
