Cotton fabric, burlap, Malabrigo hand-dyed wool and Silk & Ivory yarns. Pillowcase finish.
Technical challenges: Most of my work is precision-engineered so I wanted to try something crunchier. Discovered right away that the burlap shed so many tiny microfibers that I had to wear a mask while working with it, so I may not do that again soon, but the Malabrigo yarn was a dream to use. Trees are randomized continental stitch. Hand-sewed the embroidered burlap to the background with quilting thread.
