Technical challenges: I've had such trouble working with paper-based designs that I did this project backwards and made the entire quilt first (layers, seams, ironing, hanging sleeve). Then when I had a completed pressed quilt with nothing on it I started adding the fabric and paper layers from background to foreground. This was amazingly easier than doing the quilt top first. In fact it was too easy, and now that all the fusible elements are ironed on there are a few things I'd like to change. Too bad.
