Cotton fabrics. Hand-quilted with cotton floss along random seams.
The soft-curve piecing technique was borrowed from Jean Wells. The overall design changed several times during construction because my original ideas were too complicated for me to execute. The narrow border was made from fabric scraps that were too small and therefore required really tight seam allowances. I had cut out lots of little pieces for a design direction I ended up abandoning and didn't want to waste them (not yet having realized that you can always use tiny scraps in a different project).
